GRUPO VIDANTA FOUNDATION

The Grupo Vidanta Foundation is a non-profit institution whose primary aim is the promotion of social sciences and culture with a focus on Latin America to the benefit of all with a special interest in academia and policy-making. The Foundation began its activities in 2005 under the name of Grupo Mayan Foundation. As of May 1, 2008, it adopted its present name in order to better reflect the situation that today characterizes the numerous institutions comprising the Grupo Vidanta, among which the Grupo Mayan is one of the most important.

MISSION

The primary goal of the Grupo Vidanta Foundation is the promotion of social sciences and culture to the benefit of all.

AIMS

Our major aims are to:

  • Generate and spread awareness of the factors determining the gap in political, economic and social development that holds Latin America back from the standards of economic growth and welfare that characterize developed countries.
  • Promote the study of intra-Latin American relations and the strategies to integrate Latin America with the rest of the world. .
  • Actively influence the formulation of public policies designed to strengthen democracy, promote economic and social development and reduce social inequality in Latin America.

FINANCING

The Foundation is entirely self-financed with resources contributed by the member shareholders of the companies comprising the Grupo Vidanta, in the fields of construction, tourism, and real estate.
